Gemmotherapy
(use of Gemmo's) is a
modern method of draining the body of toxins. It is a drainage therapy using the buds and other very young parts of
plants such as the buds or other embryonic plant tissues to stimulate elimination of toxic compounds from the body
by opening up cellular detoxification
pathways.
Gemmo's are harvested in the spring, throughout the period of
cellular division and plant growth.
They are embryonic plant
stem cells - the fresh buds and vegetative tissues in the growing stage - that have been cultured macerated and
made into a gemmotherapy.
Gemmotherapy incorporates the
buds of fresh plants or embryonic tissues in the growth phase, such as young
shoots because these tissues are rich in growth factors
During this stage the plants contain the
highest concentration of active growth factor hormones, auxins and
gibberllins.
These hormonal agents contain valuable informative matter
required for the drainage of various organs and tissues at the cellular level.
Auxin is a hormone found in plantss
and
in vitro studies show that auxins stimulate cell growth. Auxins have a fetal hormonal action and are
found only in the buds of a plant.
Gibberellins are the other principle
factors in these remedies.
Gemmotherapy is used in drainage
of specific organs and even parts of specific organs.
Gemmos stimulate RNA and
protein synthesis very effectively and the current homeopathic
remedies we use in practice, because they are prepared from the whole plant (often flowering)
do not
have these key elements present.
Rekindles Worn out Vital Organs and Organ
Systems: through organ excitation, gemmotherapy remedies improve overall
function.
Repair RNA Repair: stimulates growth with active
hormones; stimulates functions of various organs and glands (organs or ducts
that remove or carry waste from the body).
Gemmotherapy compatible with
classical homeopathy and is a branch of "phytotherapy" that
was discovered by Henri Pol Bruxele and colleagues in 1965.
Gemmotherapy was further developed by
Dr. Tetau, a French doctor and Belgium homeopathic doctors in the late
1950's and early 1060's.
Gemmotherapy is used in
Europe, especially in France and there is a whole body of research of the
effectiveness. It is slowly moving to the USA and is used by
Homeopathic Practitioners trained in their
use.
Gemmotherapy products are prepared by 3 weeks of maceration of the freshly
harvested part of plant in a mixture of alcohol and glycerin.
In order to extract the embryonic substance from
the fresh buds, the fresh plant material is soaked in a solution of 50/50
glycerin and alcohol for three weeks.
After
filtration, the macerate is filtered and diluted to 1/10th with a mixture
most of with of
3.5% alcohol, water and glycerin.
It is not
potentized, it is prescribed in the first decimal potency (1X) for maximum
effect (it can also listed as 1DH on the bottle.)
Oligotherapy uses something
called "dechelating lithotherapy" which uses dilutions of minerals and rocks to help
liberate oligoelements (trace elements) so they can be more
efficiently utilized by the body.
Oligotherapy utilizes
metal based homeopathic dilutions of trace elements to improve enzyme function
and is commonly used with the other therapies mentioned.
Oligotherapy (trace
mineral therapy) is often used concurrently with gemmotherapy as they act as
catalysts.
The oligo elements catalyze the enzymatic systems of the body to
more efficiently utilize the gemmotherapy: allowing detoxification that
would take months with gemmotherapy alone to happen within weeks.
In homeopathy "organ drainage"
means that stimulate one or
more organs with an excretory function to the opening up of exit channels so toxins
can then be freed land excreted by the
homeopathic remedies and finally exit the body.
Gemmotherapy is a homeopathic drainage
method that allows for tissue
detoxification and increases the drainage possibilities of the
homeopathic remedies that follow.
Gemmos are used with the normal excretory system such as the kidneys, liver,
lymph or bowels are sufficient.
If organs are blocked, too loaded
wtih toxins, insufficient or deficient, then gemmotherapy should be used to
clear the way for drainage and detoxification.
To ensure that the treatment using the homeopathic "simillimum"
remedy produces the desired results, gemmotherapy should be used first in
order to clear the way for drainage and detoxification so the remedy can
work effectively.
There are several homeopathic
remedies used in classical homeopathic as drainage remedies. The
most frequently use ones are based on the affinities to an certain organ. These are the
traditional homeopathic remedies for organ drainage
Kidneys are
stimulated by Berberis and
