Bites and Stings 
	- 
	
Acetic Acid 
	Used for for swelling from bites and stings.  
	- 
	
Aconitum napellus 
	Used if the person feels fearful or panicked 
	after being stung.  Shock and nervousness. Cutting, stabbing or burning pain. Swelling, 
	tingling, or numbness. Use immediately, while symptoms are intense, and 
	followed by another remedy as indicated.  
	- 
	
	Apis mellifica 
	Rapid swelling, looks red and angry, with stinging and burning pain.
	Bite or bee stings causes puffy, tender swelling that is pink or red and hot 
	to the touch. For red, inflamed insect bites with burning or stinging pain.  Pain that is worse by heat or warm 
applications and relieved by cold or cool applications.

	Androctonus 
	This is the first choice for scorpion bites; 
	otherwise, use Ledum.  
	- 
	
Arnica 
	Shock after stings or bites, swelling especially with 
	ecchymosis. Used for insects, bees and wasps.

Belladonna 
	Used for anaphylactic shock.  
	Also used for stings of insects especially in the mouth.

Caladium 
	Used for mosquitoes, fleas and gnat bites. Burning and itching pains.

	Calendula 
	Insect bites, scorpion stings.  Locally applied in 
	tincture or gel or lotion to relieve pain and help the skin to heal.

Cantharis 
	Violent burning and smarting pains overshadow all other symptoms.
	For a bite or sting results in intensely burning, scalding pain. The 
	area effected is inflamed, red and blisters may develop.

Carbolicum acidum (Phenol) 
	
	For prevention of anaphylactic 
	shock.
	Used for allergic reactions after bites and stings.
	This remedy is for anaphylactic reactions or collapse after bee or wasp stings, 
	including hives all over the body and dangerous swelling of the face, tongue, and 
	throat.
	Indicated in first-aid situations, while medical help is being sought. 
	Person feels sick and weak and may have trouble breathing. Dark or reddish 
	face that looks pale around the mouth.

	Used for any symptoms of bites or stings with marker periodicity.

Crotolus Horridus 
	Used for spider bites that create necrosis  blue discoloration of 
	the skin, fever and inflammation.

Echinacea 
	Used for bites that have blueness or for gangrene after bites and any 
	type. Used for septic conditions.

Hypericum 
	Used when bites are extremely painful.
	Sharp or shooting pains from a 
bite or sting, soothing effect on injuries to nerve-rich body areas. 
	Use after puncture wounds, including bites and stings. Shooting pains or 
	pains have numbness and tingling.

	Lachesis 
	Used when a sting or bite causes a blue or purplish discoloration to the 
	skin. Used for swelling form venomous bites including spider bites.

Lactrodectus Mactans 
	Used for poisonous stings and bites, especially spider bites.  
	There is pain in the effective part and heart palpitations.  
	- 
	
	Ledum 
	palustre  
	Watery swellings which may look red and inflamed.
	For 
	itching bites or 
stings from mosquitoes, bees, wasps, spiders and rats. The itching is 
	relieved by cold applications 
	and is very sensitive to touch. Swelling extends beyond from 
	the bite, often with a bluish tinge. The feeling of cold and 
	numbness and aching pain. Swollen part seems cold to touch, but  ice or 
	cold water brings relief.

Plantago 
	Used topically similar to Calendula to help 
	sooth the skin from bee and wasp stings.  
	- 
	
	Pyrogenium| 
	Used is the wound from a poisonous insect bite or sting or a spider bite 
	that  becomes septic or develops red stripes extending from the wound 
	site.  This is administered for a spider bite if there is no 
	improvements seen with Lachesis.

Staphysagria 
	Large bites which may itch violently with smarting, stinging 
	pains which are worse for cold, better for warmth. When mosquito or 
other insect bites itch excessively or become large welts, this medicine should 
be given. Also used for lice and to help prevent 
			lice.

Tarentula Cubensis 
	Used for burning pains from bites and stings and septic conditions.  
	There is a great restlessness.  
	- 
	
Urtica urens 
	Itchy blotchy skin reactions, looks like nettle rash. Reddish blotches that burn and itch intensely, like a nettle sting 
	after insect bites. For hives that sting and itch.

Vespa Crabro 
	Used for stings from bees and wasps with a cutting sensation or the 
	sensation of being pulled by a hook.
