These questions are designed to be
a guide and to assist those who are
NEW to classical homeopathy.
We suggest that a client review these questions before when interviewing
a
Homeopath.
-
Why did you become a
Homeopath?
Tip: See if they love homeopathy! Find out if they have a genuine, burning passion for and a deep belief in their work.
Look for
whether or not this person truly feels called to this kind of
work! You want a
homeopath who has time for treating YOU. Listen carefully to the answer to this
question and their reasons. Beware of
egotistical language, discussions of their "importance"
in any field, what book(s) they have published, what conferences
they have taught or spoken at,
etc. Some of the better and hardest working homeopaths are the ones who
get the results by quietly and diligent working on their cases. |
-
Have you had experience treating someone with
similar symptoms
to my case before?
Tip: Although not absolutely vital, it is extremely helpful
and highly recommended by us.
Homeopathy doesn't treat by disease name, but by symptom pictures.
Of course, it helps if a
homeopath knows this kind of condition,
but it is not essential.
Get testimonials from clients who have been treated
successfully for the same or similar conditions when possible. |
-
How many years have you been practicing
homeopathy?
Is homeopathy your
specialty?
Tip:
Look for experience with prescribing for both acute and chronic
cases! Ask
the
homeopath
how many prescriptions they average per month, per year.
Be aware of "experienced" homeopaths who have not actually
worked actively with enough clients and recently. |
-
What
homeopathic credentials or certification(s)
do you have?
Tip:
A
Homeopath
should
have studied professionally (and still be studying!). The
should be well trained and mentored. They should have
studied the advanced
water dosing method.
Remember,
there is no licensing in the USA for homeopaths. Having
any designations does NOT guarantee that they are a truly gifted
homeopath and is not a measure of competence in case work! Look for a good success rate,
client testimonials and
a homeopath's experience with issues similar to yours. |
-
Where did you study homeopathy and for how long?
Tip:
The answers should be a specific
program or intense study with a knowledgeable person(s).
This includes
being involved in an ongoing way with various professional
Forums with reputable homeopathic organization, school or
institute. |
-
Who did/do you mentor with in homeopathy?
Who did/do you have your clinical experience with in
homeopathy?
Tip:
Ask if there is a certain
homeopath they are trained or influenced by
Find out where they received their clinical
training. It should be with LIVE CASES, in a clinical and
supervised setting that includes full chronic intake and
follow-up on such cases. |

homeopathy?
Tip:
Ask if they are taking any continuing educational course,
seminars, attending conferences etc.
Continuing education is always important
because homeopathy is a very complex field of study! |
-
Have you read the
Organon?
Tip: This is the
main source to learn homeopathy and know the principles!
They should have read it.
Most very good homeopaths are studying homeopathy continuously. |
-
How long is our initial
client interview?
Do you take the entire history of a
client? What paper work
do you require of me.
Tip: The answer should be 1 -
2 hours, with
the ENTIRE history requested in great detail.
Expect to to receive and
complete intake
paperwork to complete in great detail. Expect omplete a detailed
personal interview interview via skype or in person depending on
the homeopath's practice style. |
-

miasmatically?.
Tip: The answer
should be YES!
This is the simple definition of
Miasms: in homeopathy, the theory of miasms originates in
Hahnemann's book
"The Chronic
Diseases" which was published in 1828. The three miasms given in that work
are held to be responsible for all diseases of a chronic nature and to form
the foundation or basis for all disease in general. The key miasms are:
Psora, Sycosis and Syphilis. Combination miasms are:
Tubercular and Cancer miasms. |
-

homeopathic potencies do you use? (Dry or
water potencies?)
Tip:

advanced water dosing methods of the 5th and 6th Organon by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann
will know how to successfully use water remedies. |

choice of any remedy. |
-
Do you follow through with your clients after they
take their remedies? How do you
monitor progress?
Tip:
Regular case management and
follow-up is essential!
The importance of follow through and maintaining contact with a
client by the
homeopath
after taking the remedy is crucial to developing rapport between
homeopathy and client and monitoring the client's progress.
Be very concerned bya homeopath who does not make clear
arrangements for regular follow-up after the client is given a
remedy. |
-
How available are you in an emergency, nights, weekends? How accessible are you to
contact? How accessible are you after hours and/or on weekends and

business schedule.
Ask about
your homeopath's work schedule. Make sure

expectations of a professional who caring for you and/or family.

homeopath that you are trusting with your precious family - and accept
nothing less! |
