What Is Gemmotherapy?

  • Gemmotherapy (use of Gemmo's) is a modern method of draining the body of toxins. It is a drainage therapy using the buds and other very young parts of plants such as the buds or other embryonic plant tissues to stimulate elimination of toxic compounds from the body by opening up cellular detoxification pathways.

  • Gemmotherapy was developed by  Dr. Tetau, a French doctor and Belgium homeopathic doctors in the late 1950's and early 1060's.

  • Gemmos are embryonic plant stem cells that have been cultured, macerated and brought up to about 8X depending on which ones you buy.

  • Gemmo's are harvested in the spring, throughout the period of cellular division and plant growth. During this stage the plants contain the highest concentration of active growth factor hormones, auxins and gibberllins. These hormonal agents contain valuable informative matter required for the drainage of various organs and tissues at the cellular level.

  • Gemmo's are used in drainage of specific organs and even parts of specific organs.

What Is Organ Drainage?

  • A normal excretory system, such as the kidneys or liver is sufficient. If blocked or insufficient or deficient, or when treatment using the homeopathic Simillimum fails to give the desired results, gemmotherapy can be used. If there is a worsening and the development of new problems, it is necessary to stimulate these organs of excretion systems.

  • This technique has been given the name "drainage". This consists of the stimulation of one or several organs with an excretory function. This leads, to the opening up of channels which enable the toxins liberated by the homeopathic medication to reach the exterior and be excreted from the body.

  • This application of homeopathic drainage is called gemmotherapy ivaluable because opens up the possibility of tissue detoxification therapy and increases the drainage possibilities of the homeopathic medication.

There are several classifications of homeopathic drainage remedies. The most frequently use is based on the affinities to an organ. These are the traditional homeopathic remedies for organ drainage

How Are Gemmo's Made?

  • A 1X potency of the glycerine plant parts are prepared either from certain buds or from plant tissues in the process of growth and division. In order to extract the embryonic substance from the fresh buds, the fresh plant material is soaked in a solution of 50/50 glycerin and alcohol for three weeks.

  • It is then filtered and diluted.

  • It is not potentized, it is prescribed in the first decimal potency (1X) for maximum effect.
