26, 60 percent of those who had received the original Gardasil vaccine,
which protects against only four strains (types) of HPV (6,11,16,18), had a
higher risk of being infected with
another non-vaccine HPV virus strain.
Gardasil is still Merck’s best
seller and expected to pull in $1 billion a year.
In June 2006 Gardasil was
licensed for use in females age 9 - 26 years.
In October 2009 for males age
9 - 26 years.
In the U.S. alone, the first ten years of blanket coverage
for Merck’s ultimate target population of 9 to 26 year olds would cost more
than US $85 billion, without reducing the cost of the current screening
programs.
Gardasil sales zoomed with over $1.1 billion grossed within the first nine months of
release but adverse publicity about Gardasil vaccine injury related
deaths challenged this expensive three dose vaccine.
Gardasil is promoted as a
cervical cancer vaccine and is manufactured by
Merck.Product information states that is
protect against four types of human papillomavirus (HPV): two types that cause 70 percent of cervical cancer
cases, and two more types that cause 90 percent of genital warts cases.
Gardasil 9 in December 2014, the FDA approved
Gardasil 9 that includes five additional HPV types (31, 33, 45,
52, 58) not found in the original vaccine. This means if you have already
received one or more doses of the original Gardasil vaccine, you may
actually be at a higher risk of being
infected with the five additional HPV types than if you had never been
vaccinated at all.
Cervarix was recently
approved for use in the U.S. by the FDA. It is promoted as a vaccine
against certain types of cancer-causing human papillomavirus and is
manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline.
Cervarix is
approved for use in Australia, the Philippines and in Europe, but is
not currently available in the United States.
In Europe,
Cervarix is used in
national program of vaccination for teen and pre-teen girls.
Gardasil is a dangerous, high risk
vaccine for young girls and is completely unnecessary! As of
June 2011, there have been a total of 18,727 reports of adverse events following
Gardasil vaccination, There have been 103 deaths and over 22,000 notified side
effects of the HPV vaccine. Remember that only between 1-10 and up to 1-100 of
side effects are reported or acknowledged!
